Mosquito repellent
This is for spraying a room rather than personal use, it seems to work well in a bedroom where we spray it during the early evening.
Add five mls of tea tree oil to ten mls of methylated spirits, shake it up a bit and it mixes well together. Add this to about 500 mls of water in a spray bottle, it will turn milky white but this is normal and OK. We use rainwater that has been boiled, it doesn't seem to stain. We spray the carpets, curtains and bedding, it works. At this time of the year, when it starts to get cold, we get the large very dark mosquitoes that can be quite vicious, the above seems to keep them out of the room. |

If you do get bitten, crush some Ribwort (Plantago lanceolata) and apply to bite. Crush pretty well. Ribwort is a common weed round here growing in the ditches by the road. Wash before use if growing in a polluted area (by road etc.)
